Be careful what you wish for. You all know the saying. Well, I’ve wished for a busy Summer and I’ve been hoping for adventure and lo and behold, both parties are camping upon my doorstep. The evidence of my days of work and wander are quite apparent in the large voids between posts here at lick your own bowl. Not that I haven’t been cooking, and taking notes in the process, and the proof of the eating is in the pictures of the pudding, so to speak. But where, oh where, does one find the time to post about all these feasts and fancies when one is up to one’s elbows in work/holiday/puppy? And now, just as I thought I’d have a little peace and quiet in front of the keyboard, I find myself on the brink of yet another adventure; a larger, scarier and infinitely more challenging adventure. I’ll be gone for a while, my friends, on a photographic journey of exploration across the vast expanse that is Canada. For those of you who don’t know this, Canada is a very Big piece of country and what started out as a silly little dream to see a bit more of the land has, in a very Canadian kind of way, become a giant, enormous, unimaginable reality involving a minivan, a tent and a dog.
But I wanted you to know that I love you and miss you and that I will be back with tales and fables to regail you with for ages. In the meantime I thought I’d try to inspire a little bit of salivation over some of the yumminess I’ve dished out of my kitchen this Summer.
Au revoir, beaux amis. A bientot!

I have to stop now. You have made me ravenous and I need to demolish a bowl of food!
Well done!
